The existing nursing home at Thames Ditton comprised a Grade II Listed former Manor House dating from 1792 and includes a Grade II Priory and a Chapel. The ancillary buildings were once stand alone but had since been interconnected by a series of convoluted alterations and extensions. As a consequence, the present building was not suited for the modern needs of a Care Home. The proposal was to alter, extend and renovate the existing Home of Compassion will form a 79 bed ‘state of the art’ Care Home that will cater for current, and future, clients with a range of differing needs. Included in the development is; Associated communal facilities and car parking, internal alterations and restoration of the main building, extensive alterations and extension to the Chapel & Priory include facade retention and erection of a new 3 storey east wing linked to the main building
