Axter Hot Melt Waterproofing
A high-performance Axter hot melt waterproofing system was installed to the main roof areas, complete with 240mm inverted insulation to achieve the required thermal performance.
The roof build-up included reinforced hot melt waterproofing, protection layers and water flow reducing layers to provide a durable and long-lasting waterproofing solution.
Vertical upstands and perimeter details were fully waterproofed using the Axter Wilotekt system, complete with insulation and traffic-grade cap sheets to ensure a secure weatherproof finish around all roof edges and details.
New rainwater outlets, parapet outlets and inspection chambers were installed throughout the roof area to provide effective drainage and future maintenance access.
Pitch pockets were formed around roof penetrations to ensure all service entries remained fully watertight.
A large sedum green roof system was installed, including drainage layers, filter fleece, substrate and pre-grown sedum blanket to create an environmentally beneficial roof finish. Ballast margins were installed around the roof perimeter for fire break protection and maintenance access.
The roof access area was finished with a durable traffic-grade waterproofing system suitable for maintenance foot traffic.
In addition, new parapet cladding build-ups were installed, including Rockwool insulation, bracket and rail support systems and fibre cement board finishes to complete the perimeter detailing.
